Of course, this close proximity to music and a hot guy means trouble all around. One thing leads to another, and Bailey finds herself getting drawn not only into Sam’s band, but to Sam himself. Enter Sam, the hot guitar player Bailey meets on her slightly rule-bending job of music impersonators who perform around Nashville. Which is why, when the parents take Julie out on the road, Bailey is ordered to live with her grandfather, stay out of trouble, and under no circumstances whatsoever is she to play music ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME EVER. Like, say, a newly goth older sister who breaks rules, looks like death, and maybe, just maybe, is a better musician than her sister. Since then, their family has been doing everything they can to keep baby sister’s closet clean of skeletons that might tarnish her image. She used to tour the bluegrass circuit with her younger sister, Julie, before they were discovered by record people, who decided that they only wanted to make the younger sister famous. Here’s the details in a nutshell: Bailey is a fiddler. More of the good stuff from Jennifer Echols.

I very much enjoyed DIRTY LITTLE SECRET, friends. DIRTY LITTLE SECRET has these things, with the added bonus of taking place in Nashville among some up-and-coming musicians. I’ve read all of her books–except, I think for MAJOR CRUSH and THE EX-GAMES (because her older, younger books aren’t as much my speed, but still cute)–and I just love the way she creates drama and characters and relationships and sexytimes. She isn’t sure she’s ready to let Sam take her there again…įriends, I am forever and always a HUGE Jennifer Echols fangirl. But this life has broken Bailey’s heart once before. He knows Bailey’s fiddle playing is just the thing his band needs to break into the industry. Playing fiddle in washed-up tribute groups at the mall, Bailey meets Sam, a handsome and oh-so-persuasive guitarist with his own band. And as Julie’s debut album is set to hit the charts, her parents get fed up with Bailey’s antics and ship her off to granddad’s house in Nashville.

The music scouts wanted only Julie, and their parents were content to sit by and let her fulfill her dreams while Bailey’s were hushed away.īailey has tried to numb the pain and disappointment over what could have been. Never mind that Julie and Bailey were a duet, or that Bailey was their songwriter. That ended when country music execs swooped in and signed Julie to a solo deal.
